Haltwhistle Challenge over two days
This was an opportunity for walkers to try out the full Challenge route, but over two days instead of one. It was popular with walkers.
The weather on Day One was unpromising with drizzle and poor visibility. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves despite this. Voices were heard saying “This is NOTHING compared to that Walk to Scotland we did 3 years ago!” On Day One we walked the second half of the Challenge (Greenhead to Haltwhistle via the South Tyne) in the correct direction. On Day Two we walked the first half of the Challenge (Greenhead to Haltwhistle via Hadrian’s Wall) in the reverse direction.
There must have been some logic to it!
