Glendue Walk
Starting along the South Tyne Trail, we crossed the Lambley viaduct and the walked through broad leaf woods before re-crossing the river on a secluded footbridge. We aimed for hillsides where nature has reclaimed the former coal and quarrying sites. Then we walked in hidden wooded valleys with peaty burns, before crossing an empty moor with long views to the north and Hadrian’s Wall. The walk ended in Haltwhistle.
