We start in the pretty village of Slaggyford at the north end of the South Tyne Railway heritage line.
It is a beautiful, varied route with open moors, very remote farmsteads, lovely woodland beside the Knar Burn, then a short section on the Pennine Way. Finally, we head back into Slaggyford along an easy trail beside the river South Tyne.
