We start by passing through the small village of Wall, then head across farmland to some lovely woodland beside a burn and turning north to Hadrian’s Wall.
We cross the Wall at Heavenfield, the site of a great battle in AD633 where we are pleased to say, Northumbria was victorious! This is also the start of the popular 79 miles St Oswald’s Way.
