Walk 20: Howay Back to Halty

Start Point: Haltwhistle Market Place

Date: May 4, 2026

There is always a party atmosphere on the last day of the Festival as the longer and shorter walks converge on Haltwhistle!

We begin our day with a short coach trip to Greenhead where we join Hadrian’s Wall for a few miles past Thirlwall Castle and Walltown Crags. We leave the Wall to follow the Vallum, boundary of the Military zone, across Haltwhistle Common before dropping down to follow Haltwhistle Burn back to town.
